Where do you live?

Hi people,

f nobody suggest any topics maybe you would be interested in mine. Just few days ago I had a dispute with some friends of mine. Some of them believe that we don't need an art and artists in the world as these people don't produce anything reasonable. I couldn't agry with them, but what kind of arguments do you think are convenient in that case?

(and please correct my mistakes)

I hope by art you mean everything like painting, photography, music, dancing......

For me art is very important. If I am in bad mood, I listen to classical music and everything is getting right. Good music makes me switch off and look at the bright side of things.

I quite agree that people can't live without art! But art is different. The pieces of art are created by people. They are self-expression of creative personalities. So they may have positive and negative "messages", it depends on the inner world of the creator, of his mood at the moment.
Art helps us to calm down (music, painting), to think about life, about relationship between people (cinema, theatre). What other aims does it have?

People allways try to describe the invironment where they live. I think art helps us to understand cultures, values and the art of thinking of different cultures but also to dip deep into our past. All the documents (such as books and pictures) about out past were (usually) made by artists and writers.
Of course we know so much about the history of mainkind, but do we really understand the modern world? Or why it is so difficult to understand the modern art?

Well, I think that art is a great thing. If you can draw or write music or poetry, they can help you to release your feelings and emotions, you can halp and also teach others through your works of art.

I also think that the main sense of any human life is to develop and improve ourselves. And art can become one of the way to do so

Any person who knows (speaks..) a foreign langueage should always practise and improve it without fail!!! As for me, I improve it regularly using a very effective way..
