Наверно можно так сказать:
If you ate your cake already you can't eat it again.

Похоже на высказывание какого-то философа, что дважды в одну реку не войдешь.

I think this idiom means that one can/t do quite different things simalteneously. Am i right?

it means you can't have everything you want.... I'm pretty sure...
